Low back pain is one of the most common reasons behind seeking health care services. Despite all the resources that have been allocated to improve the interventions available for low back pain, it continues to be a significant health care problem.
Spinal Manipulation receives one of the highest recommendations among all non-pharmacological interventions from the American College of Physicians and American Pain Society for the management of low back pain (Chou, Ann Int Med, 2007).
It is a low risk, non-invasive, simple and easy procedure to offer patients (by credentialed providers with appropriate training). At the same time it offers a significant improvement in outcomes if performed on the right patient. If a patient meets the outlined criteria, they should be referred to receive this treatment.
And who might those patients be? This app provides all the information associated with the lumbar manipulation treatment based classification system to include the variables that increase a patient's chance of success, which questions to ask, which procedures to perform in the examination, and how to perform the lumbar manipulation.
